GREYTON OUTRIDE WEEKEND 9-10 October 2010. What is an Outride?
It is a non-timed event where a group of riders get to ride MTB trails with a back-up vehicle that provides stops with food & drink on the trails. A very social day/weekend - perfect opportunity to meet fellow riders and share your passion of mountain biking. Next outride taking place in the beautiful town of Greyton in the Overberg! Pre-entries are essential – please download entryform from Dirtopia website and make deposit. Fee per person per day includes all rides, snacks & drinks & back-up vehicle. You can book your accommodation separately. Schedule: Friday evening: • 18h00 – 19h45 Arrival – Check in at your accommodation. Zebra Moon backpackers rates on web. Saturday: • 08:00 – 09:00: Registration & breakfast at Oak and Vigne Café. • 09:00 – 11:00: Option of 3 outrides each about an hour and a half. Can add another loop if you want to go longer. See various options under “Routes” on the Greyton MTB website. Meet at the Oak and Vigne. • 11:00 – 12:00: Saturday Morning Market – pancakes, pies, jams and pestos (and a whole lot more) at Greyton’s weekly meeting place from 10h00. • 12:00 – 14:00: Lunch at Zebra Moon for R30. Mince Vetkoek, salad & fruit. • 14:00 – 17:00: Long ride. Explore Lismore wine estate and The Oaks farm – home of the annual Greyton MTB Classic. Sharp climbs lead to rewarding single track past farm dams through orchards and pine forests. We'll also do a winetasting at Lismore before returning to Greyton. Meet at Zebra Moon. With back-up vehicle - shorter rides are possible too. • 20:00 Nightride 1 hour. Meet at Zebra Moon - Braai fires at Zebra Moon. Join us for a dop & chop. Sunday: • 08:00 – 09:00: Registration & breakfast at Oak and Vigne Café. • 09:00 – 12:00: Test the trails of the new Genadendal Mission event (23 October) Organiser Andrew will lead the way… A 20km & 40km option – riders will be split according to ability. Meet at Oak and Vigne. • 12:00 – 14:00: Lunch @ Vanilla Café • 14:00: Single track at Tarentaalkraal (yes, at the Dirtopia Festival venue) – if we have more energy!
