Mountain Bike Tours by Dirtopia All routes are in the Simonsberg Wineland Ward near Stellenbosch. Costs includes: mountain bike hire of Giant Boulder front suspension mountain bikes with helmet & waterbottle. Includes all tastings and guide (except for option 1). Cost does not include meals. Excludes 14% VAT. Start times can be discussed (normally from 09h00) – also depends on time of year. Option 1: Vineyard trail A fun mountain bike adventure for beginner/intermediate riders. This route winds through about 7 wine cultivar vineyards on Delvera Farm. Enough climbing with rewarding view of Table Mountain in the distance and the winelands. Around 7km that will take up to an hour. Three sections of easy singletrack sections built by master trailbuilder, Meurant Botha. This trail starts & finishes at Dirtopia Trail Centre. Also on the farm: wine tasting & sales at the Vineyard Connection, restaurants, Olives, clothing stores, crafts, pottery etc. Cost: R125 per person – guide excluded (please ask for extra quote) Option 2: Wine tasting Muldersvlei Around 5km of mountain biking to 3 wine estates in Muldersvlei area: Eaglevlei, Hoopenburg and De Meye. Easy flat riding on farm roads between farms with more time to spend at the tasting rooms. Cost: R300 per person for up to 3 hours. Minimum of 4 riders Option of another 10km of mountain biking to Simonsig (1hour) – extra R100 per person. Option 3: Wine tasting Simonsberg Start at Delvera and ride mostly dirt farm roads to Simonsig for cellar tour at 10h00 and sparkling wine tasting (and oysters if we are lucky!). Ride on road to Slaley for Olives & wine. Then it is a tar climb up die Delheim where you could have lunch if you like, then downhill to Muratie for sweet wine. Cost: R400 per person for up to 4 hours. Minimum of 4 riders Option 4: Mountain bike adventure with tasting Advanced riders can experience some real mountain bike trails in the Simonsberg wineward like Knorhoek, Quion Rock, Muratie & Delheim.
